Making Her Ded Proud

This morning at home and once again in the car Lydia Violet was
singing. For the most part the lyrics were "La La La," the sound that
three little pigs make.

More by myself...

Hmmmmm?

Something about this reminds me of Cindy Lou Who.

My Seff

This is not an illusion or photo manipulation. This is what Lydia Violet's feet look like after she puts on her own sandals. I must say (Ed Grimmley) that she was a big help this morning. As I got dressed, she found her sandals and put them on all by herself. Умница!

Big girl pig tails

Mini Engineer

Lydia built this structure all on her own last night while I prepared
dinner. I'm impressed.

Obsessed...

With the Wedgits.

Brain play

Lydia's Godfather bought her Wedgets for her birthday. She stacked and
unstacked them for more than hour saying, "Watch," intermitently along
the way for effect. In short, she really likes them.

2 Year Check-up

At the doctor waiting to find out Lydia measures up as a two year old.

Everyone wants to know who she looks like...

Bathtime Approaches

We're returning from Lydia's first Russian Scout Camp. This photo is
from a few weeks ago but I wanted to post it in anticipation of the
massive bubble-bath that she's going to get when we get home. She/we
are happily camp-filthy. What an awesome time.

Actual camp pictures are forthcoming.

I just found this in my pants!

I felt a pinch and rolled up my pants leg and there he was. Yes! I was
wearing the pants when I found him. And no, I have no idea where he
came from. Crazy.

The first-time camper prepares...

We bought Lydia her first sleeping bag a few weeks ago. It's child-size but still twice her height. Despite how it dwarfs her, she'll be using it at Russian Camp this weekend. She is very excited about it. So are we. The yearly summer ritual has begun for the next generation.

Welcome Elsie Skye

Lydia Violet's newest BFF Rose, the beautiful baby daughter of our friends Jen and Casey, came barreling into this world yesterday with an equally beautiful name: Elsie Skye.

Yay, hummus!
